Designer Spotlight: CLAUDIO BELLINI Studio
When a space feels good, it’s rarely by accident. Great design doesn’t just fill a room. It shapes how people interact, focus, and recharge. That’s the idea behind the latest collaboration with SitOnIt Seating and CLAUDIO BELLINI Studio. As part of the New+Next campaign, this partnership introduces three standout collections: Cotton, Lumo, and Clova.
Each one reflects a shared belief in design that’s intentional. Because these aren’t just places to sit. They’re pieces that add presence and make the environment feel more complete.
About the Studio
Based in Milan, CLAUDIO BELLINI Studio has been creating thoughtful, forward-looking design since 1996. Founded by Claudio Bellini, the studio takes a multidisciplinary approach to its work, blending product and furniture design with expertise in architecture, brand identity, and color, material, and finish (CMF).
That broader perspective allows the team to consider not just how a product looks, but how it will live in the world. How it interacts with light, sound, movement, and culture. Over time, the studio has earned international recognition for its ability to create design solutions that feel both familiar and new.
For Bellini, the magic of design is in the moment when an idea takes shape and a sketch turns into a piece you can experience in real life.
Today, the studio operates as part of the CLAUDIO BELLINI Design Group and includes a diverse, global team that brings complementary skills to each project. The result is work that’s refined but accessible and always rooted in real-world use.
Cotton: Sculpted Stillness
Cotton reimagines the traditional lounge chair with soft, deliberate lines and a calming silhouette. Its form offers comfort while also creating a subtle sense of privacy — an inviting retreat in shared spaces where moments of quiet can be rare.
The wingback shape does more than define its profile. It helps hush the surrounding environment, softening sound and easing visual distractions without making the sitter feel closed in. The result is a personal place that feels quiet, grounded, and entirely at ease.
Rather than overpowering a room, Cotton works with it — bringing warmth, reducing noise, and shaping spaces into something softer and more intentional.
Lumo Modular: Made to Feel
Lumo is a modular lounge system that evokes comfort with a sculptural touch. Its curved cushions and fluid lines create a warm, approachable aesthetic, while the layout options allow it to adapt to a wide range of spaces and needs.
The pieces are designed to encourage flow. Inline or standalone benches can suggest a quick conversation. Corners can create quiet retreats. Optional power brings added function while preserving the simplicity of the form.
What makes Lumo memorable is how it balances flexibility and feeling. It’s seating that adapts yet stays cohesive. Each piece is considered, and every connection supports the design’s rhythm.
Clova: Seating with Substance
Clova takes the guest chair and gives it shape, structure, and warmth. Its shell is soft but intentional. The upholstery feels tailored. The materials offer a sense of presence without being too formal.
Designed to be simple but never boring, Clova’s distinctive silhouette sets it apart while staying easy to place in a variety of environments. Whether used in a meeting room, lobby, or collaboration corners, Clova helps the space feel thoughtful and complete.
From its sculpted form to its finish options, Clova shows how a small piece can have a meaningful impact. Rather than follow trends, it responds to how people actually use and experience space.
